$295.00

Cascade Palm – Chamaedorea Cataractarum The Cascade Palm also known as “Mexican Hat Palm” or Atrovineis comes from Mexico where it grows along steams and is often flooded. It grows best in shady moist areas . The maximum height the Cascade will grow is about 2 metres. Full sun is fine if there’s plenty of water, otherwise the plant will brown off somewhat. It has a feather leaf, which is dark green. The plant clumps with new plants sprouting from the base plant. Male stalks on each plant will release pollen, if the female flowers are pollinated there stalks turn orange as the seed matures. There are no dangerous parts to this palm and it looks good by itself or used in multiples as a hedge. Grows well in tropical and coastal areas. It’s not suited to outside in Melbourne or Western Sydney.
